These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the pedometer app Pedometer - Health (the “App”) provided by Chronosystem Co., Ltd. (“we,” “us,” “our”). By using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. Scope

These Terms apply to all relationships between you and us regarding the App. Any in-app notices or guidelines form part of these Terms.

2. The App

  1. The App displays and records step-related data using device sensors.
  2. All metrics (steps, distance, calories, etc.) are estimates and may be inaccurate depending on the device, environment, and settings.
  3. We may modify, add, or discontinue features without prior notice.

3. Eligibility & User Responsibility

  1. You use the App at your own risk.
  2. You are responsible for your device, OS, connectivity, settings, and any related costs.
  3. If you are a minor, you must use the App with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.

4. Ads & Analytics (Third-Party Services)

  1. The App uses Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK) to display ads.
  2. The App uses Firebase (e.g., Firebase Analytics) for usage analytics and quality improvement (e.g., understanding usage trends, troubleshooting).
  3. These services may collect, process, and transmit information such as device data, advertising identifiers, and usage events. Please see the Privacy Policy for details.

5. Local Storage / No Cloud Sync

  1. Step-related data is stored locally on your device in principle.
  2. The App does not provide cloud synchronization or server-side storage for your step data.
  3. Data may be lost due to device failure, device changes, OS reinstallation, uninstalling the App, etc. We are not responsible for such loss.

6. Prohibited Conduct

You must not: violate laws; infringe rights (including intellectual property and privacy); misuse, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, analyze, copy, or redistribute the App (unless permitted by law); overload or disrupt the App; attempt unauthorized access; or engage in any conduct we deem inappropriate.

7. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in the App belong to us or rightful owners. You may use the App only as permitted by these Terms.

8. Disclaimers (Important)

  1. The App is provided “as is.” We do not guarantee accuracy, reliability, completeness, usefulness, fitness for a particular purpose, availability, or uninterrupted operation.
  2. The App is not a medical device/service and does not provide medical advice. Do not use it for diagnosis or treatment; consult a professional if needed.
  3. Measurements may stop or become inaccurate due to OS changes, device differences, sensor accuracy, battery saver/background restrictions, battery level, etc.
  4. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damages arising from your use or inability to use the App, except in cases of our willful misconduct or gross negligence.

9. Suspension/Termination

We may suspend your use if you violate these Terms or if we deem it necessary.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms. Continued use after updates means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law / Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court.

13. Language

The Japanese version is the controlling version. Translations (including English) are provided for convenience only; in case of conflict, the Japanese version prevails.

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Chronosystem Co., Ltd. (“we”) handles information in the pedometer app Pedometer - Health (the “App”).

1. Information Collected

  1. We generally do not ask you to input personal information such as your name, address, or phone number within the App.
  2. However, because the App uses third-party services (AdMob / Firebase), certain data may be collected and processed by those providers, such as:

  1. Depending on your region, operating system, device settings, and applicable law, the App may use Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) or similar consent-management functionality to obtain and manage consent for advertising and analytics.
  2. Where consent is required, a consent dialog may be shown in the App. After giving consent, you may be able to change or withdraw your choices through the in-app “Privacy Settings” or your device settings, where available.
  3. On iOS, the App may request permission under Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework for relevant advertising or measurement. The App’s basic functions remain available if permission is denied, but advertising content or measurement features may be limited.

6. Legal Basis and Data Controller in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland

  1. For advertising, ad measurement, and usage analytics involving users in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we may rely on consent as a legal basis where required by applicable law. Consent is voluntary. The App’s basic functions remain available if consent is denied or withdrawn, but advertising content or measurement features may be limited.

7. Rights of Users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland

  2. To exercise applicable rights, please contact us using the contact details on this page. We may conduct identity and other legally required checks before responding.
  3. You may be able to withdraw consent through the in-app “Privacy Settings.” Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

8. Options Under U.S. State Privacy Laws

  1. Depending on applicable U.S. state law, you may have rights to know about, access, correct, or delete personal information, obtain information about processing, and opt out of certain processing.
  2. We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration. We also do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. However, Google AdMob, Firebase, and other third-party services may independently process information as necessary to provide their services.

9. International Data Transfers

Information may be processed in countries or regions outside your place of residence through Google AdMob, Firebase, and other third-party services. Those providers may use standard contractual clauses, adequacy decisions, or other appropriate transfer mechanisms where required by applicable law. Please review each provider’s privacy policy for details.

10. Retention

  1. Step-related data is stored locally on your device in principle and is not stored on our servers. Local retention lasts until you delete the data or the App, or as otherwise determined by the OS or App settings.
  2. Information retained by AdMob, Firebase, and other third-party services is retained and deleted according to each provider’s retention periods, deletion criteria, and account settings. We do not determine or guarantee the retention periods of third-party providers.

11. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information, though no method is 100% secure.

12. Children

The App can be used by all ages. If you are a minor, please use the App with parental consent.
(The App is not primarily intended for children under 13.)

13. Changes

We may update this Policy. Continued use means you accept the updated version.
